Laurel and Hardy, Hal Roach, released 20 April 1929, MGM. Christmas tree salesmen in July, Los Angeles; James Finlayson does not want a tree. A slammed door becomes a broken pane, then a wrecked car, then a wrecked house. Two reels, supervised by Leo McCarey, directed by James W. Horne. The destruction is methodical: each man waits his turn. Selected for the National Film Registry in 1992 and shot on a Culver City residential street, not a back lot.
