Directed by Henry Lehrman
Henry Lehrman, Keystone, Venice, California, 11 January 1914, at the Junior Vanderbilt Cup pushmobile races. Chaplin, in the costume he had just assembled for Mabel's Strange Predicament, keeps walking into Lehrman's frame. The crowd is real. Split reel, shipped 17 January, released 7 February, two days before Predicament: the first time audiences saw the Tramp. Bioscope noted the obstruction of the cameramen. Added to the National Film Registry in 2020.
