The Magician

Rex Ingram's atmospheric occult thriller, loosely based on a W. Somerset Maugham novel. Paul Wegener — the great German actor who played the Golem — is Oliver Donat, a sinister stage magician who becomes obsessed with a young sculptor and draws her into his orbit with a combination of hypnotic power and relentless manipulation.
