Alice Guy, Gaumont, 1906: La Naissance, la vie et la mort du Christ, twenty-five tableaux, about 680 metres, nativity through Passion, sold scene by scene or complete. Henri Ménessier built twenty-five wooden sets; some went up in the Forest of Fontainebleau, with about three hundred extras. Guy told Francis Lacassin she used James Tissot's Vie de Notre Seigneur as a model. Victorin Jasset managed exteriors and was long miscredited as director. Shot by Anatole Thiberville at Buttes-Chaumont and on location.
