Directed by Sidney Lanfield
Margot Weston is pregnant when her fiancé is killed, a doctor who has lost his licence gets her through it and finds the child a home with a couple who must never know, and years later she meets the boy and the widowed father in Europe. Sidney Lanfield directs in the manner of the women's pictures of the decade, and Barbara Stanwyck refuses the manner at every turn, playing the mother as a woman who made a decision and lives with it. A remake of Gallant Lady. Herbert Marshall, Ian Hunter, Cesar Romero. Fox, 1938.
