Un Chien Andalou

Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí, Paris, 1929. Sixteen minutes at the Studio des Ursulines: a razor and a woman, ants in a hand, a man dragging pianos and priests, a couple buried in sand. They wrote it from dreams they would not explain. Buñuel later said he carried stones in his pockets in case the first-night crowd charged. CNC and the Filmoteca restorations are the standard. A provocation with a running time, not a thesis.
