A lawyer is holding a geologist prisoner and using his power of attorney to buy up the ranches his gunmen have emptied, and Tucson Smith and Stony Brooke ride in. The first film made from William Colt MacDonald's Three Mesquiteers, with two of the three, Guinn Williams and Al St. John, and the plot of a hundred other Westerns. Republic bought the characters the next year and ran the series to fifty-one films; this is where it started, on a smaller lot. John P. McCarthy for Normandy Pictures, 1935, fifty-five minutes.
