A young man goes to the city to earn a girl and writes home about his jobs, and her imagination promotes each one: a street cleaner becomes a surgeon, a bit player becomes Hamlet. He ends inside a paddle wheel, which is the film's idea of a career. Renée Adorée is the girl. Keaton and Eddie Cline, 1922, three reels, some of it lost.
