Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks, 1928: Mickey at the wheel of a steamboat, Minnie as cargo, a goat as a phonograph, a cow as a xylophone. The third Mickey cartoon produced, the first released, and the one that made synchronized sound a cartoon problem. Iwerks drew it; Disney did the voice and the whistle. It is not the first sound cartoon. It is the one that taught the industry the mouse could sell a revolution.
