Laurel and Hardy, 1927: a fight manager insures his boxer and then tries to arrange an accident. The pie fight that follows (hundreds of pies, a city block) is the one everyone stole. Clyde Bruckman directed; the second reel was lost for decades and found in 2015. Two reels that invent a grammar of escalation. Stan is the boxer. Ollie is the man who thought insurance was a plan.
