Murder!

Hitchcock, BIP, 1930, from Clemence Dane and Helen Simpson's Enter Sir John. A jury convicts an actress (Norah Baring). One juror, actor-manager Sir John (Herbert Marshall), is not sure and starts over. BFI notes what some call an early use of voice-over as thought: Marshall shaving while a phonograph of his own voice plays and a live orchestra does Wagner off-set, because you could not post-dub yet.
