Directed by Marshall Neilan
Marshall Neilan, Artcraft, 1918, from William J. Locke, adapted by Frances Marion. Pickford plays Stella, a sheltered invalid, and Unity Blake, a scarred orphan put into service in the same house. Walter Stradling double-exposed the scenes where they share the frame; she could not cross the center line. Photoplay said the public would not accept her in thin parts after this. Unity is the performance.
