Die Bergkatze
1921 · 85 min · DE
Directed by Ernst Lubitsch
A lieutenant at a mountain fort, a bandit's daughter, and a fort designed like a cake, with masks on the frame in every shape and sets that bulge. Pola Negri is the wildcat. A military satire nobody wanted in 1921; Lubitsch called it his favourite of his German films, and the public disagreed. Eighty-five minutes.
