Genuine, die Tragödie eines seltsamen Hauses
1920 · 88 min · DE
Directed by Robert Wiene
A painter's portrait of a priestess comes to life and demands blood, in a house that is all corridor. This is the film Wiene made after Caligari, and it proved the sets were not enough: César Klein's décor is there to be looked at, and the story fails to use it. Expressionism as a style you could buy by the yard. Fern Andra is the vampire. Decla, 1920.
