The Last of the Mohicans

Maurice Tourneur and Clarence Brown, Maurice Tourneur Productions, 1920, from Cooper. Wallace Beery as Magua, Barbara Bedford as Cora, Albert Roscoe as Uncas. The Munro sisters, a British column, and a Huron ambush in the French and Indian War. Silent, about seventy-three minutes, released November. Tourneur (with Brown finishing after an injury) treats the forest as a set of planes, not scenery. The cave and the cliff do more work than the speeches.
