Lonely Wives

A respectable lawyer whose manners collapse after eight in the evening hires an impersonator to stand in as the husband while he goes out, and then the mother-in-law, the wife, the client's wife and the maid arrive in a house with too few rooms and too many doors. Edward Everett Horton plays both men, and his fluttering panic, which the thirties would use as a garnish, is here the whole dish.
