John Ford, Fox, 1928. A Bavarian mother watches her boys go to war on opposite sides of 1914. Margaret Mann at the center; Ford still early in his Fox period. Silent (with a prepared Movietone score in some markets), roughly a hundred minutes. The Commons print carries the family melodrama without much speechifying.
